UTE (Universidad Tecnologica Equinoccial) is a member of the following important higher education organizations:  AUALCPI (Association for the Integration of Latin America and the Caribbean), UDUAL (Union of Universities and Polytechnical Schools), CONESUP (National Council of Higher Education), and CEUPA (Ecuadorian Corporation of Private Universities).


The University has signed agreements with higher education institutions and companies in Ecuador, Latin America, North America, and Europe.  This has been done to facilitate student and faculty exchange programs and to promote the development of research networks.

IBEROAMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF EDUCATIONAL TELEVISION
UTE receives and transmits conferences and training courses via HISPASAT satellite technology.

IBEROAMERICAN CONSORTIUM FOR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT (ISTEC)
Supported UTE’s creation of its Excellence Center that gathers government, private, and higher education institutions.

EUROPE:

•Inter-institutional Cooperation Agreement:  "Palazzo Spinelli"Art and Restoration Institute (Florence, Italy)

•Center for Business Administration Studies:  Polytechnical University of Madrid (CEPADE).  Supports various  postgraduate programs that UTE offers in the fields of Administration, Foreign Trade and Integration, and Environmental Management.

•COTOPAXI LUMBER COMPANY
Lumber company that supports internships for students in the College of Architecture.

•SMALL BUSINESS BUREAU
Supports the development of joint training, research and student internship programs.

•PICHINCHA SPORTS FEDERATION (CDP)
The School of Education and Recreation created the career of Sports Management that links students and professionals holding the necessary national and provincial sports certifications.

•CORPORATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION (CODEU).

•ECUADOR FOUNDATION
This foundation supports training and development of students within Ecuador and overseas.

•4H GROUP
Supports research and internships in the field of agricultural sciences and range management.

•MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND CULTURE (MEC)
The Program of Faculty Training (PROPAD) was created in conjunction with CODEU.  It is offered in the Bachelor of Science program specializing in Adult Education.

•INSTITUTE OF FINANCIAL AID AND SCHOLARSHIPS (IECE)
Enables access to financial aid and scholarships to study programs in technology, undergraduate studies, engineering, and post-graduate studies in Ecuador and overseas.

•NATIONAL FEDERATION OF ECUADORIAN ACCOUNTANTS
Offers professional distance education coursework in the field of public accounting to students holding undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Public Accountants holding a current certification by the National Federation of Ecuadorian Accountants.

•ACADEMIC COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN UTE AND ELOY ALFARO PUBLIC UNIVERSITY OF MANABI
Supports the implementation of undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate programs between both institutions.  It also fosters faculty and student exchange programs in joint academic activities.

•INTER-INSTITUTIONAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN UTE, ECUADORIAN FEDERATION OF ECONOMISTS, FENADE, CODEU
UTE coordinates a Master’s in Economics program through its Department of Postgraduate Studies and the Ecuadorian Federation of Economists.  This program emphasizes on Business Administration and is offered through distance learning.  It has a high level of economic and administrative theory and is oriented to the analysis of the specific problems faced by economies in developing countries.

•INTER-INSTITUTIONAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN UTE AND CORMADERA
It is a pilot project focusing on the reforestation and rehabilitation of degraded forests in Ecuador.  This agreement supports the university’s involvement in the establishment of cooperation mechanisms that strengthen specialized training of national human resources in the fields of technical research in forestry.

•ACADEMIC AND SCIENTIFIC COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN UTE AND THE INTERAMERICAN CENTER OF HIGHER EDUCATION STUDIES AND PUBLIC OPINION (CIESURP)
Promotes academic, scientific, and professional affairs between both institutions.  They develop activities that encourage the highest level of public relations.

•GENERAL AGREEMENT WITH THE ECUADORIAN CUSTOMS CORPORATION (C.A.E.)
Enables the development of joint research and extension projects, as well as academic events such as courses, seminars, internships, and conferences.

•COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE NATIONAL POLYTECHNICAL SCHOOL AND UTE’S SANTO DOMINGO DE LOS COLORADOS
Both institutions agree to develop new careers to train professionals in technical fields, to organize seminars, training courses in science and technology, and activities that involve research, design, and construction of agroindustrial prototypes.

•ACADEMIC COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN UTE AND THE INSTITUTE FOR ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES AND TRAINING (CESAL)
Prepares professionals capable of efficiently managing service enterprises that have been identified through personal contact with the client.  The central strategy is to reach internal client satisfaction, and external satisfaction of the organization in terms of the delivery of administrative services.

COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN UTE AND THE ALLIANCE FRANCAISE

•TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT BETWEEN UTE AND THE SUPERINTENDENCE OF COMPANIES
The main goal of this agreement is to harmonize and coordinate efforts for an adequate exchange of information, training, technical assistance in common areas, in order to foster the improvement of both entities.

• TECHNICAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN UTE AND THE SMALL BUSINESS BUREAU OF PICHINCHA “CAPEIPI"
UTE and its partner will develop and train business people and qualified instructors in the following fields:  Managers, Middle Management in Technical and Professional areas.  This will be accomplished with the participation of trained professionals holding postgraduate degrees in such fields, certified and experienced technicians which will help increase the competitiveness of the company and the professionals who graduate in higher education centers.

• TECHNICAL AND SCIENTIFIC COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN UTE AND THE ASSOCIATION OF ECUADORIAN WOOD INDUSTRY "AIMA"
UTE and AIMA will develop joint activities related to the forest sector of Ecuador.  These activities will focus on wood industries, operational training management, scientific projects, promotion, and others of mutual interest.

• COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN UTE AND THE CENTER FOR OCCUPATIONAL TRAINING "PLANCAFIT"
This agreement allows the administration, promotion, diffusion, and development of activities that UTE runs in conjunction with its careers in Accounting, Auditing, and Distance Learning.

• GENERAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN UTE AND JAPAN’S ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
This agreement establishes the base for a reciprocal agreement to foster trade and export of Ecuadorian goods and services to Japan.  It creates a binational program to exchange business information related to Ecuador and Japan.  It fosters training and consulting to exporters so they can have access to Japanese markets.  It disseminates and promotes the activities underlined in this agreement.

• GENERAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN UTE AND THE ECUADORIAN CORPORATION OF ELECTRONIC TRADE (CORPECE)
This agreement provides consultation for the elaboration of academic and professional programs focusing on technology, internet, and electronic trade.

• ECUADORIAN TECHNOLOGICAL PRODUCTIVITY INSTITUTE “ITEP”
Graduates of ITEP who have obtained diplomas in the fields of Informatics, Design, Administration, and Food Science, can continue their studies at UTE with the objective of achieving a higher education degree.

• COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN UTE AND THE ECOTOURISM ASSOCIATION “ASEC”
This establishes the necessary commitments to execute reciprocal activities between UTE and ASEC.  This aims to strengthen the electronic trade structure in order to develop sustainable Ecotourism.  It also aims to foster electronic trade for Pymes and to get support for natural resources management.

• COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN UTE AND THE ITALIAN CENTER
It allows the learning of the Italian language at the Italian Center.  The learning occurs in advantageous conditions for our students who can benefit from discounts, special scheduling, and student groups that only belong to UTE.  It also establishes contacts with Italian cultural institutions to access information about Culture, Art, Restoration, Museology, etc.

• COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN UTE AND HYDRONATION S.A.
UTE’s College of Interior Design and Architecture will develop the blueprints to equip the Bamboo Center of the Wildlife Reserve of “Los Monos”, as well as that of one of the Embalse Islands.  It will enable the presentation of projects and their corresponding offers.  Once an offer is chosen, faculty and students will implement the project.

• PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN UTE AND EXPOCENTRONLINE
This agreement helps define common parameters regarding work in the fields of technology, electronic trade, e-marketing, and e-education (internet based education), as well as the areas that the market needs in fields of technical training and technology.

• INTERNSHIP AGREEMENT BETWEEN UTE AND THE MINISTRY OF LABOR AND HUMAN RESOURCES
The Ministry of Labor and the University, with the purpose to generate a mechanism for mutual help, agree that UTE’s students qualify as interns and access internships to train their skills in the Ministry of Labor.  Students who are very capable and suited for the internships will have the opportunity to learn professional skills and become competent in their activities.

• COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN UTE AND THE NATIONAL UNION OF JOURNALISTS
It establishes the base for a reciprocal cooperation between both institutions in order to promote, disseminate, and develop academic programs, and professional training programs.  It covers the undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate levels.  This is offered as part-time, distance learning courses, especially in the field of Communications and the career of Strategic Organizational Communications Management.

• COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN UTE AND ECUADORIAN NATIONAL FEDERATION OF ECONOMISTS “FENADE"
Offers high level training in economic and business theories that focus on the analysis of the specific problems associated to developing countries.  Ecuador needs highly qualified professionals in such fields in order to operate advantageously in a globalized and competitive world which presents challenges with its inequalities, unstable economy, risks, new social factors, and accelerated scientific and technological changes.

• COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN UTE THE NORTHERN DEVELOPMENT UNIT LINKED TO THE PRESIDENCY OF ECUADOR “UDENOR”
UTE and UDENOR join efforts to implement an Internship and Support System in networking, informatics, and internet.  The main objective is that such internship system offers a fast, handy, timely, and efficient support to UDENOR for their data bases.  Students will provide such support and they will benefit by accruing pre-professional training hours under the supervision of  UTE’s Telematic Team of the Informatics and Computer System Institute.
